For the second time, La Chaine, the world’s oldest and most exclusive gastronomic society organised its Chapitre, the yearly highlight event of La Chaine at The Leela Palace.

In a solemn ceremony, 26 new members were officially inducted by the representative of the international president Maitre Albert Hankenne, who especially flew in for this occasion from Europe. It was also the occasion when the new president of La Chaine India, Anja Matysik Kroll and the new president of La Chaine Bangalore, Rishad Minocher received, as all other members, their new Chaine ribbon and certificate according to their new title or grade at the Royal Club of the Leela Palace.

The ceremony was followed by champagne reception and a grand six-course gala
dinner specially crafted by the executive chef Rudolf Eichele and his team at The Grand Ballroom. The set-up of the Ballroom and the service of the Leela staff was enjoyed  and appreciated thoroughly by 60 members and their friends.

Rajeev Kaul, president of the Leela and also a member of ‘La Chaine’ since 10 years, as well as other dignitaries honoured this event with their presence.

The presidential surprise, where all members relaxed in an elegant lounge adjacent to the Ballroom, was the after-dinner finale featuring the making of chocolate
by the Leela patissier, imported cheeses and a selection of the world finest digestives.

During the dinner a ‘Twinning Agreement’ between the Bailliage de L’Inde and Bailliage de Belgium was signed to promote the gastronomical, oenological, touristic, social and culture exchange between the two countries.

‘La Chaine des Rotisseurs’ was established in Bangalore four years ago counting now 80 members.
