The Commissioner of Public Instructions has warned that school admissions made prior to the publication of admission schedule by the department will not be recognised.

S R Umashankar, the Commissioner, has issued a circular in view of certain private schools in Bangalore and other cities conducting admissions for the academic year 2013-14 and receiving applications even online.

The admission procedure for the coming academic year will begin in January 2013 and the department will come out with a time table and schools should not go ahead with admissions till such time, the Commissioner has said in a press statement.

Unaided private schools, immediately after notification of the admission time table, should inform the block education officer on the number of seats available in first standard/nursery classes, in writing. The rule applies to government schools too.

The BEO will prepare a list of seats available under the 25 per cent quota prescribed by the Right to Education Act.
