Moily's remark criticised

“The minister is sending a wrong signal to the people through his statement. Such statements only convey support to tainted judges. Therefore, the people have to protest against his statement,” he said.

He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on ‘RTI and awareness on prevention of ragging,’ organised by Karnataka Law University in the city.

The judiciary system has already provided enough protection to judges. If a judge seeks more security than what he/ she has already secured then he /she is unfit to dispense the duties of a judge.  Thus, it is necessary that all the justices declare their assets  and thereby retain the sanctity of the judiciary, he asserted.
