130 tonnes of ore seized

Police here have seized some 130 tonnes of ore, which was being illegally transported in six lorries near Kudathini taluk, on Tuesday morning.

Following a tip-off, the police intercepted the lorries which were carrying the ore, mined  from a field near Taranagar in Sandur taluk. The ore was being transported  to Hyderabad.

The lorry drivers did not possess proper permits and other necessary documents.

As many as 15 persons have been taken into custody.

A case has been registered at the Kudathini police station.
