Acting on a tip-off, Army personnel today apprehended three persons and recovered a huge quantity of arms and ammunition from Baksa district of lower Assam.
Army sources said soldiers of the Mahar Regiment launched an operation at Manjoor village under Magrijuli police station and picked up the three persons from a house.
The jawans recovered from them three Chinese hand grenades, an Indian hand grenade, a detonator, a pistol with magazine and eight rounds of bullets and four bullets of AK-47 rifle.
During interrogation the arrested persons said they belong to a newly-formed Adivasi militant outfit.
