Karnataka continue winning run

Karnataka edged out Hyderabad by 13 runs to notch up their fourth successive win in the South Zone Under-19 one-day tournament for the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at the Aditya Global Academy ground here on Wednesday.

Karnataka are leading the table with 18 points while Andhra (15) are second. The final league match between the two unbeaten sides on Friday will decide the champions.
Electing to bat, Karnataka made 264 for the loss of eight wickets in their 50 overs. Suchith J top-scored for the hosts with an unbeaten 52 (37b, 6x4, 1x6).

Nischal D scored 46, while Anurag Bajpai (29), Abhishek Reddy (27) and Shreyas Gopal (27) too chipped in with useful contributions. CU Milind was the most successful bowler for Hyderabad with figures of 3 for 56.

 Though Hyderabad made a spirited chase they were bowled out for 251 in the final over. Vamshivardhan Reddy hit a fine half-century (60, 50b, 3x4, 3x6).

Tamnay Agarwal and Rohit Rayudu too excelled scoring 47 each. Prateek Jain claimed 3-44 for Karnataka while KN Bharath and Shreyas Gopal took two wickets apiece.
Dharam Naren Reddy’s 8-25 paved the way for Andhra’s thumping 123-run win over Goa in another match.

On Tuesday, Karnataka, riding on Nischal D’s hundred (102, 142b, 10x4), had outplayed Tamil Nadu by 68 runs to win with a bonus point.
