NITK to host 2nd edition of TEDx event tomorrow

The National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) at Surathkal will host the second edition of its TEDx (Technology Entertainment and Design) conference with the theme - “Teasing Every Dimension,” at the NITK premises on October 28, between 9 am and 4 pm.

As a part of the last day of the technical fest ‘Engineer 2012,’ the students of NITK Surathkal will be hosting the second edition of the hugely successful TEDx NITK Surathkal on their premises on Sunday.

The first edition of this event was a resounding success with the likes of Mohandas Pai, Violin Maestro Kumaresh, Commonwealth Games paralympic medal-winning swimmer Prasanta Karmakar and many other inspirational figures sharing their ideas and stories with an amazing audience that numbered more than a 1,000.

This year’s line up promises an eclectic mix of speakers from all walks of life. The highlight and host among these Bollywood actor, TV host (Comedy Circus, Shararat) and entrepreneur Shruti Seth.

The event will also feature talks under 18 minutes by Arun Sharma, serial CAT topper and author of the TMH series of CAT books, Gagan Agrawal, youngest project scientist of Asia’s first student designed satellite program, Sanyjay Rao, Director of Mandovi Motors, Balaji Girisabella, CEO of Yahoo! Entrepreneurship and Sumit Dagar, TED fellow who designs Braille phones for the blind.

To add to the diversity, Gopal B Hosur, anti-naxal chief and Inspector General of Police – Intelligence, Vijay Krishna, Director of Arghyam (not-for-profit organization for water issues), Freeman Murray, Co-founder of Jaaga (nurtures innovators) and Dasami Moodley, activist and director of Business Development at InVenture will be addressing an audience expected to cross a thousand this year as well.

For the entertainment factor, Guinness record holding Beatboxer Vineeth Vincent will team up with India’s fastest rapper Brodha V to enthrall the audience with their fast paced rhythms.

TEDx NITK Surathkal promises to be a show-stopping, informative and inspiring event with ideas and stories from all spheres of life.
