Miscreants made away with a portion of the gold chain Vasanthi, 60, was wearing, when she was returning home after seeing her granddaughter off to school, on Ratna Vilas Road in Basavanagudi at 7.15 am on Tuesday.

One of the two bike-borne men tried to snatch the chain in Vasanthi's neck, but she held on to it tightly. The chain broke and the bikers escaped with a portion of the chain.

Half an hour later, when Chennamma, 65, was returning home from a milk booth in Girinagar, two miscreants on a bike snatched the 50-gm gold chain in her neck and sped away.

Thirty minutes later, two bikers who came from behind, snatched a 50-gm gold chain from Kalavathi, 43, behind Janatha Bazaar in KG Layout, when she was returning home from a walk. After a few minutes, two bikers snatched a 100-gm gold chain from Sarojamma, 57, at Kathriguppe. Both the cases have been registered at Chennammanakere Achukattu Police Station.

The same miscreants may be involved in all the cases, said Pranab Mohanty, Joint Commissioner, (Crime-West).
