An aged woman was killed when a speeding bus knocked her down, near Kankanady bus stop, on Wednesday.
According to the police, the deceased is Veronica Pinto (72), a resident of Saripalla near Kulshekar. The accident occurred when she was crossing the road after alighting from a bus.
She was returning from attending a mass at Nagori church. Though she was rushed to the hospital, she succumbed to the injuries she had sustained. She is the mother-in-law of JD(S) leader Susheel Noronha.
