The indefinite protest demanding implementation of the permanent irrigation project by various organisations in Chikkaballapur has entered 29th day.

On Tuesday, various members of the  Akhila Karnataka Hindu Temples Priests, Gayathri Seva Samiti, Gayathri Mahila Mandali and others participated in the ongoing protest by holding pujas and rendered shlokas.

The priests conducted Rudra Mahayaga and other religious events and urged the government should implement the G S Paramashivaiah Report. “Since the authorities concerned seem to be oblivious to our demands, we were left with no option but to seek divine intervention. Hence, we decided to hold pujas to register our protest,” said the priests.

Congress to protest|

The district unit of the Congress has urged the State government to launch the Yettinahole drinking water project by next December, lest the party will intensify its protest, said district unit president M Anjanappa.
