Last Updated 01 November 2012, 18:40 IST

Congress leaders and workers are all set to welcome former external affairs minister S M Krishna, who is visiting Bangalore for the first time after his resignation to the Ministry, on Friday.

Krishna, who is set to arrive at 3.30 pm, will stay in the City for a week. Party workers and leaders have made arrangements to greet the Congress leader at the Bangalore International Airport in large numbers.

This, despite Krishna’s request asking them not to do so especially at the airport as it would hamper traffic movement and inconvenience commuters.

He has instead requested the leaders to meet him at his residence. Regardless, almost all the MLAs from Bangalore Urban and Rural are said to receive him at the airport.

Congress leaders and workers from Ramanagar, Mandya and Maddur are also said to be part of this welcoming committee.
