Same constituency

Reacting to queries on contesting elections, he said that he would contest from the same constituency. Yeddyurappa and the BJP seem to have no future in Karnataka politics, he added.

H D Revanna, who was also present at the function, said the JD(S) was happy to receive Shankaralinge Gowda.

Regarding elections, he said, the JD(S) would not join hands with any political party in the coming elections. “The time has come to drive out national political parties from the state.”

Gowda, a former mayor of Mysore, has won the elections to the Legislative Assembly four times consecutively. He was disappointed with the BJP for not making him a minister.
