JOIN USA cat burglar sneaked inside a house in the swanky north-west Bandra suburb and sexually assaulted a German national before robbing her, in the early hours of Monday.
Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vishwas Nangre Patil said that while the medical examination of the 27-year-old victim has confirmed sexual assault, “ it seems that the thief had broken into the house primarily to rob”.
Giving details of the FIR filed at the Bandra Police station, ACP Patil said that the victim was asleep in her rented apartment located on Perry Cross Road, when the burglar managed to gain entry into the house through a window around 3:15 am.Threatening the woman with a knife, the intruder raped her and before fleeing from the house collected all the valuables including foreign currency notes which the victim had inside the house.
ACP Patil said that eight teams have been formed and a sketch prepared on description provided by the victim has been flashed across police stations.
