A 32-year-old man died in a west Delhi hospital after being beaten up for trying to get a man end an affair with his friend's wife.
According to police, Shrawan Singh was thrashed by Rajesh and his accomplice Mahender Pal at Nihal Vihar last Friday.
“The main accused, Rajesh, has an affair with the wife of Raju, who is Shrawan’s friend. When Raju told Shrawan about it, he decided to intervene and talk Rajesh out of it,” a police official said.
Shrawan approached Rajesh at his home on Friday evening when he was with Mahender, who is the brother of the woman involved.
However, instead of listening to Shrawan, they entered into a heated argument. This degenerated into a fight during which Shrawan was repeatedly hit.
“Blunt objects seem to have been used as weapons by Rajesh and Mahender to assault Shrawan,” the official added. He was later admitted with critical injuries at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Police was also informed after which a case of attempt to murder was lodged against Rajesh and Mahender.
On Monday evening, Shrawan succumbed to his injuries.“We have added charge of murder in the case, but Rajesh and Mahender are absconding. Raju and his wife are being questioned,” the official said.
Wife stabbed
A woman was critically injured after her husband stabbed her in north-east Delhi’s Shahdara suspecting her to be involved in an extramarital affair.
Meena Aggarwal, 35, who lives with her 16-year-old daughter and 13-year-old son in West Rohtash Nagar, is undergoing treatment at Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
Police said Meena’s husband, Laxman, a resident of Subhash Park attacked her on Monday afternoon.
“Meena and Laxman are living separately for the past month. Laxman went to Meena’s house at around 3.30 pm on Monday and stabbed her multiple times,” a police officer said.
Police have lodged an attempt to murder case over a complaint filed by her daughter.
She told police that she had gone to attend a tuition class on Monday when she got a call from her uncle Vikrant Sharma, informing that her father was going to visit her mother.
She immediately rushed home and saw her father leaving their building wearing blood soaked clothes.
“Laxman told his daughter that he had killed Meena, and fled from the spot,” the official added.
The girl then saw her mother lying injured on the staircase. She informed Vikrant after which both of them rushed Meena to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital.
“Meena suffered stab wounds on her arms, thighs, abdomen and chest. Her condition is stated to be out of danger,” the officer said.
Police are conducting raids to arrest Laxman.
