Stating that it was the first to demand that black money stashed away abroad be brought back, the BJP Friday asked the government to investigate the operationss of HSBC bank in India.

Speaking shortly after activist-turn-politician Arvind Kejriwal blamed the Congress- led government for protecting those who had black money abroad, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nirmala Sitharaman also asked government what it has done so far to control black money.

"If government cannot explain what action they have taken against black money, we demand they investigate in this HSBC affair," Sitharaman said.

"If we go by the 100 days promise, your commitment about black money has not been fulfilled till today.

The Chintan Baithak, before it concludes must make a statement of how they have failed to do many things but that which was not part of manifesto has been achieved to the fullest," she said referring to the Congress meet going on in Surajkund near Delhi.

"A scandal a day, corruption to the hilt, volumes of corruption growing astronomically; of course these were not things you promised in your manifesto but you have succeeded in," Sitharaman added.
