Basic facilities promised to tribal haadi

The residents had met taluk- level officials recently. Lokesh expressed anguish over the officials who have failed to provide drinking water facilities and streetlight to the haadi.
President directed Women and Child Welfare department to conduct a survey and open mini anganwadi centre in the haadi.

He asked the officials to provide basic facilities using various schemes of the social welfare department. An action of providing 10 solar lamps, construction of two water tanks for the supply of water and construction of 34 ashraya houses at an estimated cost of Rs 40,000 each was approved.

He also urged the officials to provide right of the land where the tribals are residing in Sajjalli tribal haadi.

The handicapped residing in the haadi will be given identity card to claim monthly honourarium.

The haadi tribals alleged that ration is not being supplied to them with the help of temporary ration coupons. The President urged the Food and Civil Supplies official to see that ration is supplied to the tribals. Mobile health unit will visit haadi to check the health of the tribals every month, he added. Taluk Panchayat standing Committee on Social Justice President Pushpalatha, EO Nagaraj, Social Welfare Officer Narasimhamurthy and others were present.
