Youths told to be independent

Speaking after inaugurating driving training for the unemployed youths from BPL families under Swarna Jayanthi Grama Swarojgar Yojane in Madikeri on Tuesday, he said there is no need to have government job to lead a good life. By undergoing skill development training, youths should become independent.

“Poor should be economically empowered for the development of a nation. Government is providing driving, beutician courses for the unemployed youths from BPL families. The youths should make use of such facilities,” he added.

MLC S G Medappa said India will become a super power by 2020 only if the human resources are utilised properly.

Zilla Panchayat Vice-President Anitha Kanjithanda said under SGSY scheme, as many as 118 unemployed youths were selected for training in driving. Of which 19 are girls, which is a postive development.

Zilla Panchayat Standing Committee on Social Justice President S N Rajarao said unemployed youths must give importance to self-employment.
ZP Health and Education Standing Committee President Manu Muthappa said government has been giving emphasis to education and health.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Mirja Akbarulla said those who have undergone various training under Swarna Jayanthi Grama Swarojgar Yojane, loan facility will be provided from the banks.

Taluk Panchayat President H S Subhashini also spoke. ZP members Raghu Achaiah, B C Neelamma, Susheela Lokayya and others were present.
