Woman accuses father's friend of sexual assault

A 28-year-old woman alleged that her father’s friend had sexually assaulted her and continued to rape her by blackmailing her with an objectionable video that he had made.

The woman in her complaint filed with Malviya Nagar police station on Friday said she, along with her two daughters, was living with her father for some time due to problems in her married life.

She came in contact with her father’s friend Naresh Navlani, 60, who used to visit their house often.

He became very friendly and used to treat the victim like his daughter.

She said the old man was very sympathetic to her and offered a portion of his house for her stay.

She in good faith shifted to the new accommodation with her two daughters.

One day when there was no one else at home, Navlani offered her some drinks and she fell unconscious after having them. The woman alleged that then the man sexually assaulted her. 

She learnt to her horror that he had also made an objectionable video of her.

Later, whenever she refused to oblige the accused, he used to blackmail her by threatening to post the video on social networking sites.

Woman said she was fed up of the blackmail and reported the matter to the police.
Police said they have got a complaint against Navlani, a resident of Vaishali Nagar, of sexual assault and are investigating the matter.
