Hit by the exodus of their top players, the KGF Sports Academy (formerly BEML FC) will be conducting selection trials on Thursday (Nov 15) at the Bangalore Football stadium hoping to revive the fortunes of the Super Division club.

Most of the KGF footballers, including their coach Raman Vijayan, had left the club at the end of the last season. The BEML officials conducted a trials last month at BEML (KGF) but couldn’t find the required players to form a squad.

With the BDFA deadline for players’ registration ending on November 5, the club had no option but to keep themselves out for a season. But after discussions with Bangalore District Football Association officials, it was decided to organise fresh trials. The BDFA, on their part, has extended the registration deadline to Nov 15.

“Due to administrative reasons, the selection of BEML football team was delayed. A meeting was held at the BDFA on Nov 10 and it was decided to hold selection trials,” said a release from V Ramesh, secretary, BEML Sports Club.

The trials will be held from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.BDFA is planning to kick off the ‘A’ Division and Super Division leagues after Nov 25.
