Lanslides kill 40 in Nepal

Twelve people, including seven children, were killed in Mastamandu village of Dadeldhura district after their houses buried by the landslide, according to officials.

Over a dozen houses were collapsed in the village.

In another incident, 18 people have been killed in three villages of Achham district.
In Parvat district, four people including two children were buried alive in the landslide this morning, according to a private radio.

Two people, including a child, were killed in Bajhang district while one each reported dead in Baitadi, Doti, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts, the police said.

Hundreds of people die every year from flooding and landslides in the country.
