Congress on Saturday announced that it will hold a brainstorming session — Chintan Shibir –—  of the party in Jaipur from January 18 to 20 with focus on political and economic situations and deliberate on the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.

AICC general secretary Janardhan Dwivedi said the first two days of the event would be devoted to brainstorming session while the last day would be converted into an AICC meeting. About 300-odd leaders would be invited to the conclave.

The  proposed Jaipur meet comes close on the heels of the November 9 dialogue  session - Samvad Baithak - wherein party seniors were invited to meet at Surajkund. The meeting led to formation of Election Coordination Committee headed by Rahul Gandhi with three sub-groups one of which is exclusively devoted to the issue of alliances.

Party sources said the Jaipur congregation would be participated by AICC office-bearers, chief ministers, PCC presidents and CLP leaders. Among the issues likely to be discussed there include the topic of alliances, how to overcome the perceived current negative image of the party following various scams, preparing the party for the forthcoming LS polls etc.
