The sacking of B J Puttaswamy from the State Cabinet has evoked strong reactions from B S Yeddyurappa as well as the minister.

Yeddyurappa said the end of the BJP government is fast nearing and dared the BJP national leaders to dissolve the Assembly and go for elections.

“More than 50 legislators and at least 10 ministers are loyal to me. Therefore, BJP leaders should allow smooth functioning of the government, assuming that it is the KJP-BJP coalition government. But it (taking action against his loyalists) is an irresponsible behaviour. The BJP is playing a political game with hatred,” he stated in Haveri. He hit out at Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar and BJP state unit president K S Eshwarappa for taking action against his loyalists. Puttaswamy, who could become minister only with the blessings of Yeddyurappa, said in Belgaum, “I am a free man now. I will go to Haveri and participate in the convention.”
