Bangladesh beat West Indies by two wickets in the fifth and final one-day international to take the five-match series 3-2 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Saturday.
After failing to chase 211 just 24 hours earlier, they overcame three difficult phases in their pursuit of a target of similar proportion to win a series they had led 2-0 but almost let slip out of their grasp. Nasir Hossain carved the winning boundary to drag his team to a two-wicket victory.
Kieron Pollard and Darren Bravo hit contrasting half-centuries as the West Indies were bowled out for 217 in 48 overs.
Pollard hit a robust 74-ball 85 and Bravo notched a sedate 108-ball 51 during their 132-run fourth wicket stand to lift the tourists from a struggling 17-3 after they were put into bat.
Bangladesh started on a positive note when they removed Kieran Powell (11), Marlon Samuels (one) and Chris Gayle (two) by the eighth over. The West Indies never really recovered from those blows.
