School bus hits truck, 3 students injured

 Three students were injured, one of them seriously, when the school bus they were travelling in rammed a lorry on Nice Road, Monday morning.

Police said the bus belonging to Jnana Sweekar Public School located on Kanakapura Road was ferrying the students from Kengeri when the accident occurred. Lokesh, the driver of the bus, was driving the vehicle at great speed and hit a truck from behind.

There were only three students in the bus - Chandan (class VII), Varun (class V) and Yeshwanth, a kindergarten student. Chandan sustained a severe head injury, while the other two suffered minor injuries and treated as out patients, police said. Talaghattapura police have registered a case.

In another accident, the school bus of National Academy of Learning, Sadashivanagar, hit an electricity pole on Pottery Road. A major tragedy was averted as there were no students in the bus. Ramappa, the driver of the bus, sustained head injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital. He said there was poor visibility due to fog. However, police said that the driver was overspeeding.
