Carpenters killed as bus rams two-wheeler

Three men were killed in separate accidents in the past two days in the City. Two carpenters were killed after a speeding private bus collided head-on with their two-wheeler on TC Palya Main Road in KR Puram Monday night.

Police have identified the dead as Mukhesh Rana, 17, a native of Uttar Pradesh and a resident of Electronics City and Avinash, 17, a native of Bihar and a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar. The two were close friends.

Avinash was riding the bike on the way to TC Palya when the accident occurred. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital. While Rana, who was riding pillion, was declared brought dead, Avinash was referred to Nimhans.  He too succumbed to injuries later. The bus driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle. KR Puram traffic police have registered a case.

Youth mowed down

A youth was mowed down in a hit and run accident near BEL Circle in Jalahalli.
Police said the victim, Sharath Shinde, 22, was an employee of Emerson Industrial Automation.

On Tuesday morning, Shinde was crossing the road at BEL Circle to board the company bus, when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down and sped away.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Shinde was living with his mother Manjula and elder brother Bharath Shinde, an employee with BEL. Yeshwantpur traffic police have registered a case.
