Finance Minister P Chidmbaram said on Thursday that the cash transfer scheme will not be rolled out in haste. He also assured removal of hiccups before the scheme is implemented.
“We will take it step by step because this is an important scheme. The scheme will benefit millions of people. So, we will proceed slowly,” Chidambaram told Rajya Sabha.
“Training is being provided. Bank branch managers are being trained to open accounts and to link the accounts with Aadhaar cards. Business Correspondents are being trained how to carry the Business Correspondent Service to the villagers,” said the Finance Minister.
