Anirudh sparkles in Young Orions' win

Yound Orions’ defiant point guard Anirudh paved the way for his team’s win, scoring more than half the team’s points.

JSC’s power forward Anil Babu top-scored for them with 18 points and pivot Kaushal notched up 17 points to help their team take a 25-23 lead at half-time.
However, Anirudh stepped it up in the second half to take Young Orions through in the final second of the match.   

Defending champions Vijaya Bank, in contrast, registered a resounding 69-49 win against Sports Hostel, Bangalore.
Roshan (24) top-scored for Vijaya Bank while their lanky pivot Sanjay Raj scored 10 to give their side a 32-18 lead at half-time.
Sports Hostel’s Jayaraj (13) and shooting guard Varun MR (11) gave the side something to work with but the Bankmen’s experience proved decisive.
In the final match of the evening, Madras Engineering Group scored a thumping 67-36 win over Controllerate of Inspection Electronics.

Llyod Antony top-scored for the winners with 18 points while Sirajuddin chipped in with (10).  CMP’s Arun Kumar (14) did some damage but to no avail.
