The Lokayukta police on Thursday filed a partial ‘B’ report in a private complaint referred to them and exonerated M K Aiyappa, Bangalore Urban Deputy Commissioner, and Shivashankar, former Lokayukta Superintendent of Police, Bangalore.

In a private complaint filed at the Lokayukta court, R Srinivasmurthy had alleged that Shivashankar had leaked information to Aiyappa about an attempt to lodge a complaint against him with the Lokayukta police.

The case was referred to the Lokayukta police for investigation by the court on October 8.
Speaking to Deccan Herald, Additional Director General of Police H N Satyanarayana Rao confirmed that the police had indeed filed a partial ‘B’ report and exonerated Aiyappa and Shivashankar.

“There is no evidence against Aiyappa or Shivashankar. But it is true the other accused, Rajeshwari, demanded money from the complainant,” the Additional DGP said.

According to the complaint, Rajeshwari, a case worker in the deputy commissioner’s office, demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh on behalf of Aiyappa.
