<p>Six workers were killed in two accidents in Davangere and Mysore districts on Sunday. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Three persons died on the spot when a goods vehicle they were travelling in, collided head-on with a lorry near Bennehalli village on National Highway 13 in Jagalur taluk on Sunday. <br /><br />The dead are labourers from Maharashtra, who worked near a toll collection centre. The police are tracing the address and other details of the dead. The car was proceeding from Imangala of Hiriyur taluk towards Amaravathi in Maharasthra. The 20-wheeled lorry from Rajasthan, was carrying transformers to Chitradurga.<br /><br />Due to the impact of the collision, the goods vehicle came under the lorry. The mangled remains of the vehicles were cleared with the help of cranes.<br /><br />In Piriyapatna<br /><br />Three labourers died after they were hit by a speeding car on Saturday night, near Kundanahalli village of Piriyapatna taluk in Mysore district.<br /><br />The dead are Manjunath (30), Thammegowda (40) and Manju (30). <br /><br />The three, along with Nagegowda and Thimmegowda, were walking back to Alanahalli village, after loading maize into the lorry, when a speeding car coming from Kushalanagar, hit them. <br /><br />Thammegowda and Manju died on the spot, while, Manjunath died at a hospital in Mysore. Nagegowda, who has suffered serious injuries, is being treated at the government hospital, while Thimmegowda has been shifted to Mysore hospital for additional treatment.<br /><br />A case has been registered at the town police station. <br /><br />The car driver has been arrested and the vehicle has been seized.<br /></p>
