The West Bengal Chief Minister is to separately interact with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram with both likely to exchange views on the coming joint-operation against the left-wing extremists in West Bengal, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Orissa. The fresh offensive with many ‘surprise elements’ will commence after the completion of assembly polls later this week, sources told Deccan Herald.
The Chief Minister had skipped the last Chief Ministers’ conference when internal security and Naxalite threat to it was deliberated by the state chief ministers with the Centre. The dominant pockets of West Bengal have been increasingly penetrated by the Maoist with an apparent tactical support by the Trinamul Congress.
