I will not resign: Renuka

Excise Minister M P Renukacharya on Saturday dismissed reports that he had resigned from the minister’s post, which appeared in a section of the media.

“I will not tender my resignation under any circumstance,” he said addressing a press conference here. He termed the reports far from truth.

“Voters have elected me to carry out the duties responsibly and not tender resignation,” he said and added that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa had never asked him to tender resignation or pressurised him in this regard.

“There is no question of tendering resignation to neither the minister’s post nor legislator’s post,” the Honnali legislator said. Renukacharya said he was discharging his duties honestly.

On a question that he was secretly engaged with KJP, Renukacharya said he had never indulged in covert politics and declined to comment on joining KJP or any other political party.
