Following allegations of irregularities in distribution of houses under the Karnataka Slum Development Board scheme in Laggere in Bangalore, the State government has ordered a CID probe into the matter.
BJP MLA M Srinivas on Thursday alleged that the Housing department had sold/distributed houses built by the Slum Board to unauthorised people. Housing Minister V Somanna launched a counter attack on the MLA. He said, of the 2,800 applications received, 400 applications have been referred to the Board by Srinivas himself.
The minister agreed that the “truth should come out” and seconded that the government order a probe into the controversy.
