<p>Users of nine state highways will soon have to pay toll as the government has decided to entrust the maintenance of these roads to private agencies for a period of 10 years on operate, maintain and transfer basis.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Following is the list of highways as per the budget proposals for 2013-14: Kalmala Junction to Sindhanur; Hattigudur to Bidar; Krishna Bridge near Bijapur to Lokapur; Sankeshwara to Yadawada; Hunagunda to Belgaum; Hiriyur to Bellary; Bilikere to Belur via Hassan; Yadgir to Andhra Pradesh border; Andhra Pradesh border to Shahapur.<br /><br />Besides, Chikkanayakanahalli-Tiptur –Hassan and Dharwad – Alnavara State Highway will be developed at a cost of Rs 480 crore on private public partnership – Viability Gap Funding (toll) basis.<br /><br />The chief minister has proposed to prepare a feasibility report for the construction of a six-lane tunnel in Shiradi Ghat between Sakaleshpur and Mangalore. <br /></p>
