JOIN USMamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress has emerged as the biggest partner with 19 seats followed by the DMK with 18, NCP nine, National Conference three, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and IUML two each and the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, the Kerala Congress (M) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen one each.
The BJP has won 116 seats and its NDA have emerged victorious in 43 seats. Among the NDA allies, the JD(U) has got 20 seats followed by the Shiv Sena with 11 seats, RLD five, Akali Dal four, TRS two and the AGP one. The NDA’s total tally is 159 seats.
The Third Front ended with 78 seats. The BSP emerged as the largest party with 21 seats followed by the CPM with 16 seats, BJD-14, AIADMK-9, TDP-6, CPI-4, JD(S)-3, RSP-2, Forward Bloc-2, and the MDMK one.
The Fourth Front comprising the SP, the RJD and the LJP could manage only 26 seats. The SP led by Mulayam Singh Yadav got the largest chunk with 22 while RJD won four with LJP drawing a blank.
Of the remaining 16 seats, nine were won by independents followed by one each by seven parties— Jharkhand Vikas Morcha, Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi, Sikkim Democratic Front, Nagaland Peoples’ Front, Swabhimani Paksha, Bodoland Peoples' Front and Assam United Democratic Front.
