DMK, which fought the Lok Sabha elections with the UPA, won 18 out of 22 seats it had contested, paving the way for the UPA to win 28 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
According to party workers, amongst the names suggested for ministerial births are Karunanidhi’s daughter M Kanimozhi and son M K Azhagiri, who won from the Madurai constituency with a margin of over 1.4 lakhs votes.
Karunanidhi is expected to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi to discuss the ministerial births. The party has also convened an executive committee meeting on Monday at ‘Anna Arivalayam’.
