'Students' reunite after 39 years

Hebri Ananthapadmanabha Sannidhi auditorium witnessed a rare event of reunion of students who had passed out of Hebri Government PU College nearly 39 years ago.

The SSLC batch of 1974 had organised a get-together programme and felicitation programme for the Police Officer Kabbinale Prabhakara Bayari, one of the batch mates who had won President’s Gold medal.

The ‘students’, who had shared the same classroom while studying and participated in extra curricular activities, are now spread over different parts of the country for livelihood. It was an occasion to renew contacts and many of them turned up with their spouses and children to savour the moment and make the day a memorable one in their life.

Out of 69 students, 53 had attended the programmes. Senior teachers who were present on the occasion felt proud of their students and felt a great contentment over their student’s achievements.

Most of them went down the memory lane and recalled with nostalgia some of their best moments in their school life.  One of the student of the batch presently serving as Police Inspector of Bangalore Ashok Nagara Traffic Police station and had won President’s medal  was felicitated.

Karkala DySP Jayanth V Shetty felicitated Prabhakara Bayari.  Teachers of Bayari, M Annappa, retired Physical Education Instructor H Raghurama Somayaji,  organiser Keredande Lakshmana Nayak, Sitanadi Vittala Shetty,  Muralidhara Nayak, Ravikara Kamath, Vittala Pai and others were present.
