The national-award-winning director, who visited Tihar with actors Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manoj Bajpai to celebrate Diwali with the prisoners, said, "We have talked to the authorities and they have decided to include the song as part of the prayers in Tihar." The soft track by the veteran singer was played for the inmates by film's music director, Shamir Tandon.

"We will be using the song in our morning and evening prayers. However it will not replace the existing prayer 'Ae Maalik Tere Bande Hum'," Sunil Gupta, Public Relations officer, Tihar Jail said. "The usage of the song will depend once we have it. We are still waiting for the song to come to us," Gupta added. The film, which also stars Mugdha Godse, had earlier grabbed headlines when it was revealed that Neil had stripped for one of its scenes.
