Though a student of law, he proved that he is like any other politician and had very little regard for rules. No doubt, he is learning trick of the trade fast.

Samajwadi Party legislator Pramod Gupta’s son Abhinav Gupta slapped a lady teacher in a classroom on Thursday and chased her in the lobby when she tried to run toward the staff room.

Intoxicated with power, Abhinav publicly threatened the lady teacher and hurled a volley of expletives at her.

According to reports, Abhinav was angry with the teacher as she had deducted few marks owing to his short attendance. On Thursday, he barged into the classroom while she was teaching and slapped her hard and threatened to kill her.

The staff and other students later held a demonstration demanding action against Abhinav. He was then suspended from the university, sources said.

Such was the terror of the MLA’s son that police inspector literally fled from the police station when the teacher insisted on lodging a case against Gupta.

A case was finally registered late in the night after some lawyer friends of her husband intervened in the matter.

CM promises action

The incident found an echo in the state Assembly on Friday and chief minister Akhilesh
Yadav assured that stern action will be taken against the culprit.

A senior Bahujan Samaj Party leader said, “What else could be expected from an SP MLA’s son. He was only doing what many legislators of his father’s party are doing every day.”

In the past, many SP legislators have been accused of breaking law with impunity. They have been charged with thrashing public officials, engineers and even cops.
