<p>A man was arrested a day after a 34-year-old woman and her daughter were found dead at their house in outer Delhi’s Rohini, police said on Friday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Probe was taken up after Yasmin and her five-year-old daughter Sophia were found with their throats slit at block C in Rohini sector 1. Police said Nadeem Ahmad, 23, of Wazirpur JJ colony had killed the victims after robbing Rs 1.25 lakh from the house.<br /><br />“Nadeem worked with Yasmin’s husband Aslam and used to visit the house occasionally. He was in need of money and knew about the availability of cash in the house,” said B S Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of police (outer).<br /><br />With an intention of robbery, Nadeem entered into the house around 1 pm on Thursday. He took out money from an almirah when Yasmin went to bathroom, but Sophia had seen him.<br /><br />“He went on to slit Sophia’s throat with a knife and kept waiting for Yasmin to come out of the bathroom,” Jaiswal added. As she came out, Nadeem strangled and slit her throat.<br /><br />He further poured kerosene on Yasmin’s body and set her ablaze. Thereafter, Nadeem took Rs 1.25 lakh in cash and Yasmin’s mobile phone, and fled.<br /><br />The bodies were discovered when Aslam returned home for lunch around 2 pm. “Yasmin’s body was found partially burnt in a naked condition,” Jaiswal said.<br /><br />Aslam told police that cash and Yasmin’s mobile phone were missing. The input was also developed regarding features of a suspect who was seen moving in the locality at the time of incident.<br /><br />The suspect was identified as Nadeem, who worked with Aslam. On the basis of technical surveillance, Nadeem was apprehended at his house at Wazirpur JJ colony.<br /><br />“The robbed money, mobile phone, weapon of offence and bloodstained clothes of Nadeem have been recovered,” Jaiswal added.<br /><br />A case of murder has been lodged against Nadeem with Vijay Vihar police station.<br /></p>
