In his sharp verbal attack on BJP led State government, former Union minister B Janardhana Poojary held the State government responsible for breaking the faith of people in administration and opined that the local governance will totally collapse if the BJP administration continues to be in power in the Municipal Administration.

Coming down heavily on the State government, he said that it was because of the BJP that female atrocity cases witnessed its heights in the State.

Making a reference to the homestay issue, he accused that the women at the spot were harassed by the activities and when journalist Navin Soorinje tried to collect the evidence, the activists had him arrested and charged false cases of dacoity and rape in order to suppress the truth and freedom of expression.

“BJP has completely lost the ability to be in power. The caste politics and corruption of ministers and leaders of the BJP government have made the people to bow their heads in shame. Minorities had no protection at all,” he said.

Stating that the BJP and the JDS are two sides of the same coin, former Union minister said that JDS had the hidden agenda of bringing BJP to power in the State.

Though the Central Government had sanctioned the funds to the State Government towards the development work of Malnad roads, the State government has not utilised the same and some of the funds have been diverted, Poojary alleged.

Stating that Congress will not hike tax even by one paisa if it comes to power in ULBs, he said the full fledged manifesto will be released on March 2 by Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader Oscar Fernandes.
