Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, producer Karan Johar and director Karan Malhotra are teaming up again for a film post the success of Agneepath. While Agneepath was a remake of 1991 movie of the same name, their next film Shuddhi is based on an original story and will hit theatres on Deepavali next year.

“It’s a large-scale love story, a genre I love. I had a wonderful experience. Karan has a fantastic vision, a combination of aesthetic and commercial sense. Hrithik is a close friend and an outstanding actor. So, it’s great that the three of us are teaming up again,” says Johar.

“Karan has been preparing for this film for over a year. I’ve never seen a director work a year in advance on preproduction,” adds Johar.

Hrithik, who played the lead in the Agneepath remake successfully, is looking forward to getting back with the team again. “I’m really excited to work with the two Karans again. Agneepath is an extremely special film for me and I can’t wait to recreate a new world,” says Hrithik.

This will be Johar’s second Deepavali outing since his directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998. He is hoping that the festival will be as lucky for Shuddhi as it was for KKHH. The film is scheduled to go on floors by the end of 2013.
