JOIN USIn the last 24 hours, two women were gang raped at separate places and dumped at isolated areas in the capital.
Four persons gang raped a 25-year-old married woman in a moving car in north-east Delhi’s Welcome on Monday night, and dumped her at a dark, isolated area in an unconscious state, police said.
The incident came to light after some locals, while standing on their balcony, saw a woman being pushed out of a white car near a garbage dump in Zafrabad in north-east Delhi on Tuesday early morning.
The residents immediately called the police control room. “We rushed to the spot within minutes and found her was lying in an unconscious state. She was rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where her condition is said to be out of danger,” said a senior police officer.
The woman, after preliminary treatment, became conscious and told police that four persons gave sedatives to her before raping her. She said after separating from her husband she has been living alone in Bhajanpura for the past four months.
To make out a living, she was looking for a job. A few days ago she met Yashdev, who offered to help her find a job.
On Monday evening, Yashdev called her to meet him at Zafrabad Park on the pretext of offering her a job. When she arrived in the park, he offered her a cold drink laced with sedatives. She started having a headache, after which he took her to a white car where three more persons were already sitting, police said quoting the victim. Then they tore her clothes despite her protesting in a semi-unconscious state. The four men took turns in raping her.
“She said she has no idea where the accused took her because she became unconscious after having the cold drink,” said a police officer. Police have roped in an NGO to counsel her.
A case was filed, and police have arrested Yashdev. They are looking for the three others.
Club dancer assaulted
A 22-year-old club dancer was allegedly gang raped by three men in Vasant Kunj on Tuesday. The victim claimed she was taken to a house in Kusumpur Pahari, where she was raped by Mukesh, Dheeraj and Devender.
Police said she works at a nightclub in Vasant Vihar, and was returning home at 12.30 am when she met two of the accused outside the nightclub.
“She claims that the two men took her to the Kusumpur Pahari house, where the third accused was present,” a police officer said.
She was allegedly beaten up at the house, where the accused took turns to rape her. She was later dropped back in Vasant Vihar, after which she called the police control room.
Her medical examination confirmed sexual assault.
A case was lodged and Mukesh, Dheeraj and Devender were arrested on her statement. Mukesh is pursuing BA from IGNOU, while Dheeraj and Devender work with private firms.
