Scientist attends wife's funeral

 A jurisdictional court on Wednesday allowed senior scientist Dharmesh Kumar, 38, who was recently arrested on the charge of murdering his wife, to attend her funeral in the City. After the funeral, the police took him to custody.

A schoolteacher at Elements Montessori on Aralur Road, Mahalakshmi, 37, a native of Mumbai, died after her husband Dharmesh allegedly slapped her during an argument over a trivial matter at their flat in Mantri Flora apartments, off HSR Layout on Sunday night.

An autopsy was performed on the body of Mahalaskhmi at Victoria Hospital on Wednesday. Police officers said that the postmortem report would throw more light on the cause of her death.
