A 21-year-old girl was stabbed and seriously injured by her lover at Guru Tegh Bahadur Enclave in east Delhi on Friday.
Police said Pooja, who is studying in class 12, is undergoing treatment at a city hospital. Suspect Sandeep is absconding.
“The victim received a deep cut on her face and has been moved to GTB Hospital where her condition is said to be stable. The accused is on the run and we have registered a case of attempt to murder under section 307 of IPC,” said a police officer, adding the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained till the girl gives her statement.
Meanwhile, police have reasons to suspect that they were in a relationship till few months ago. Pooja is pursuing her studies through correspondence.
