A 21-year-old youth was hacked in the Gandhi Nagar area here and two persons were arrested in this connection, police said on Saturday.
Nishan was attacked following an altercation on late Friday night by some youths in Balmiki Colony, said SHO Gurmeet Singh. The assault was carried out with sharp weapons and swords, Singh added. A police team rushed him to government medical college where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police said two youths, identified as Sunny and Rahul Bhalla, had been arrested and a motorcycle was seized from them. A manhunt is on to nab the other accused, an official said.
The family members of the deceased and other local residents barged inside the house of Sunny and vandalised property.
