Hostel inmates protest over poor food

The students alleged that the entire responsibility of supplying food has been given to cooking staff and the supervisor has not turned up at the hostel. As a result, students are put into hardship without food.

The hostel is located 3 km away from the City and hence inmates are compelled to go to college by autos and buses. Hence the hostel should be shifted to a nearby location, they demanded.

The students alleged that sports equipment and furniture has not been supplied to hostel. Even the light arrangement is not proper, they said and threatened to continue their stir until their demands are met.

However, taluk Social Welfare officer Manjunath succeeded in pacifying the students and assured of meeting their demands.
