The State BJP communication cell has launched a debate on Twitter on the developmental activities and achievements of the State government during the last five years.
Around 250 tweets were hosted by the communication cell on the BJP Twitter page (twitter.com/bjpkarnataka) on Tuesday morning. The BJP Twitter page has 6,000 followers, highest among any political party in Karnataka. “We plan to compile the responses, and convey the same to State leaders in the next few days,” BJP Communication Cell State Convenor Channamallikarjun Patil said.
The move is part of the State BJP to make extensive use of the new media to reach out to voters as part of its political campaign for the forthcoming Assembly polls. The party broke the news of the expulsion of Excise Minister M P Renukacharya on Twitter much before television channels started flashing the same.
