<p>An object that looked like a bomb was found on the Belgaum-Chikodi bus at the depot of the Chikodi bus stand late on Tuesday night, creating panic among people. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The object was found by a cleaner who entered the bus at 11.30 pm, after the driver and conductor had left. He found a plastic bag, with light flickering, behind the rear seat and brought the matter to the notice of higher officials who informed the police. <br /><br />Deputy Superintendent of Police H N Amrapur and Circle Police Inspector V Venugopal, after inspecting the object, sought the help of the CRPF personnel deployed for election duty. They opened it in an open field and found that it was a fake bomb. The bag contained a candle, wires and pencil batteries used for torches placed inside a plastic pipe.</p>
