<p>More than 400 students stretched out their hands and solemnly pledged that they shall exercise their voting right ethically at St Agnes College on Wednesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The novel initiative was introduced by Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Plan (SVEEP), with an aim to motivate youth and hence make them understand their responsibilities.<br /><br />Addressing the students, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat CEO and DK SVEEP Chairman Dr K N Vijayprakash insisted that each student who have enrolled to vote should verify if his/her name is included in the voters list. One can also do this online. If anyone comes to know about unethical practices or have grievances can call 1077. "Be a part of this sacred democratic process," he requested. Commissioner of Police Manish Karbikar told students that they have to be decision makers. "No one can force you to vote for a particular candidate as it shall be an offence. You have the right to choose your leader," he said.<br /><br />St Agnes College Principal Rev Sr Prem D'Souza told students to be responsible citizens.
