Even as the Election Commission is seizing pamphlets without details of the publisher and vans used for election campaign without permission, several contestants can be seen running from pillar to post to seek permission from the Commission to print pamphlets.

Several contestants are caught in a quandary, as they are unable to print pamphlets as the Election Commission has not yet given them identity cards.

Independent candidate from Kolar constituency K S Srinivas Gowda who approached the Department of Information, on Sunday, to get pamphlets printed had a tough time, as the staff refused to take up printing.

The staff refused to print the pamphlets, as he did not have an identity card furnished by the Election Commission.

Only after Srinivas Gowda said that action could be initiated against him, if he was found not to be a contestant did the staff agreed to undertake printing.
